ROMANCE IN THE METHOW

      For an amazingly romantic weekend, rent a house near Winthrop, in the Methow Valley of north-central Washington. The charming house we rented was just a few miles out of town and had a fabulous view of seemingly endless forest, a hot tub, and a gourmet kitchen. We counted more than ten shooting stars in one evening alone! And the solitude was magical.
      The drive from Seattle across the North Cascades Highway was a wonderful prologue - and the drive back to Seattle, down the Columbia and west over I-90, was a nice "re-entry." Hard to believe just a few days created so many wonderful memories.
